Drop In Platform Systems
Compatible with all of our steel stairs, this platform
design can best be described in a single word as flexible. Ideal for
commercial egress stair applications, but just as well suited for the industrial
stair and steel alternating tread stair. Without the size limitations of the single
formed platforms, this is the model our designers go to when designing many of the
more complicated stair systems and is the only platform
that will work with our Model 03AA and 04AA stair models.

Handrails: |
Handrails are 42” above the landing, and the configuration depends on your application.
Handrails are provided on sides without stair mountings. The rails are the same
1½" OD tubing as the rail of the stairs. Aluminum clamps are provided to connect
the stair handrail to the platform handrail.

Design Features
Z-channel framing utilizes the same design as the stringers on our Model 01AA –
04AA stairs. The balusters of the guardrail slide through the frame and attach using
provided spacers and bolts just as they do on the stairs.
There are very few size limitations. The modular design and drop-in sections allow
for much larger platforms than our single piece formed platforms. Our customer service
representatives will work with you and our designers to determine the best size
and layout to meet your requirements.
Panels can drop in either parallel or perpendicular with the framing, and attach
to 3” C-Channel supports.
Fully integrated handrails, continuing from the stair onto the platform, are available
upon request. Because most codes do not require this, the default design is to have
the handrails end on the platforms, just let us know if you need continuous handrails
on the platform.
Available with either a fully balustered design, or with filler panels.
